Thermoball Jacket Review

The first product the The North Face selected for me to review is the Women’s Momentum Thermoball Hybrid Jacket. They chose this jacket based on a survey I filled out about my lifestyle.

Never one place always one jacket

Initial thoughts when opening up the package: this color looks familiar.

Does it remind you of anything? It’s not a color that I would pick out on my own but it is nice to have a unique color when most of my jackets are black.

This jacket is very lightweight and feels thin, but it has kept me warm every time I have worn it. The sleeves are stretchy so it is good for walking around or being active on a cool day. It definitely does not feel bulky. Over the past few weeks I wore it out shopping as well as in between innings at kickball games.

On Saturday I tested the jacket out on my first run! It was about 35 degrees outside and I went out for a quick 3 mile spin. The jacket’s tight fit makes it perfect for running or other activities. The zip-up pockets are perfect for gloves or snacks/tissues you might carry on a run. I was almost too warm wearing this jacket for 3 miles at 35 degrees. I can already tell the Thermoball jacket with a short sleeve shirt will be my go-to choice for a run when the temperature is below freezing.

I love this jacket and definitely recommend it to others. There are many Thermoball options on the site, but I recommend the momentum style if you are looking for one you can wear while running. My only critique of the jacket I received is the color – I am not a fan of this Parlour Purple color. Baby Bop anyone?

Thanks for reading! Try out a thermoball jacket for yourself and never stop exploring.

Lean In – Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Working Together Towards Equality

To wrap up my series on Lean In, I am going to share my favorite quote from the final chapter:

All of us – men and women alike – have to understand and acknowledge how stereotypes and biases cloud our beliefs and perpetuate the status quo. Instead of ignoring our differences, we need to accept and transcend them”  – Sheryl Sandberg, Lean In, p. 159.

A different perspective on life and the workplace is my biggest takeaway from the book. I appreciated the stories and anecdotes from each chapter that improved my critical lens of the world and forced me to rethink how I support women and men in work and home life. Sandberg summarizes that women should join with men as well as other women to work together and help women rise to leadership positions. She states “Women don’t often receive female support but can really help each other by working together.” I am making a commitment to support my colleagues, women and men, in their personal and professional endeavors.

"We need to be grateful for what we have but dissatisfied with the status quo"

Together let’s make the workplace better for everyone. I hope you will add Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg to your bookshelf and let me know your thoughts. Thanks for following the series.

Review: Venus Embrace VoxBox

IMG_5491I learned about Influenster a few months ago from my friend Veronica. Influenster is a community of members who review products and experiences. After signing up, I completed the requested aspects of my profile and started answering questions for Expert badges. Expert badges help you qualify to get a VoxBox. If this sounds appealing to you, I currently have 5 invites to the site. Let me know in the comments if you would like me to send you one!

I haven’t used Influenster too much, but I love receiving new products to try out. Recently I was chosen to receive the Venus Embrace VoxBox from Gillette.

IMG_5494I was really excited to get the opportunity to try this out for free because Venus razors are about $9! I was hoping that this would become my new favorite razor. I tried it yesterday and unfortunately I was disappointed. I think it’s flimsy on the end and difficult to use. It definitely did not seem made for sensitive skin like it claimed. I do not recommend it if you are not already a fan of Venus razors.

I know this is a little different than my typical blog post but I wanted to share my experiences with Influenster and the Gillette Venus!
